Honor 9X Price in India | Honor 9X Detailed Review :

The Honor 9X smartphone for which we have been anticipating for a long time that might have chances of arrival to the country have been during Diwali and Christmas too. For some reason they are unable to launch the device. But, finally, Honor India has officially launched this budgetfriendly smartphone in India. Now let's find out how is Honor 9X and what is Honor 9X Price in India?

Honor 9X Box

On the Honor 9X's box you can see the 4GB/6GB RAM and 128GB storage and two colour varients - Black and Blue. Honor 9X smartphone appears to be designed pretty simple yet eye-catchy. If we go through the package contents firstly, we are greeted here with SIM ejector pin and moving forward along with it there's the conventional transparent case here in the same box. After which there's Honor's power adapter. However, it has got branding from Huawei and talking further about power output then you get 10W power output here and moving forward, there's a USB Type-C cable, which is a good thing and that's it from the box.

Honor 9X Design

The latest smartphone as for first impressions, it's a beautiful back-glass panel, which also showcases reflections and it looks cool too. Normally, it's still got a plain design but, it still manages to appear cool when it comes to design. The Honor 9X is a budget to mid-range handset. You have Gorilla Glass protection on the front with no notch, it's a full screen display with an exciting new pop up camera and it also feels like gorilla glass on the back with a reflective X pattern somehow embedded in the design. The frame seems to be made from plastic finished in shiny. Overall the design is attractive and feels great.

On the back, you will get a fingerprint scanner, triple AI camera, a LED flash, and Honor branding and talking further about the camera then here you will get 48MP main camera, one 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP AI camera, which is a depth sensor. On the right, the device's got power switch and volume rockers and on the left, you get a clean design and on the top, you'll find the front camera, which is the pop-up camera. Alongside you will get SIM card slots and secondary noise cancellation mic. At the bottom, you'll find 3.5mm headset jack and, a microphone, Type-C port, and speaker grille. On upfront, you get 6.59-inches display, which is of 2340x1080p Full HD+ resolution. Honor 9X will be available in two variants – 4GB and 6GB RAM in terms of storage section and 128GB storage.

Honor 9X Processor

In the hands performance is pretty good with the HiSilicon Kirin 710F. It's an Octa-Core CPU with the ARM Mali-G51 GPU. Gaming and multimedia looked great on the large screen and you can play more or less any game you like from the app store including Call of Duty mobile. EMUI will give you an overall smooth experience.

Honor 9X OS version & UI

In this phone's home screen it doesn't have an app drawer, which is why you can find all your apps at one place and if you don't want any of the pre-installed apps then you can uninstall it right away from the home screen. Navigating to phone's 'Settings' area in the 'About phone' section, the device's name is clearly mentioned as Honor 9X and the model number mentioned here and also the build number too. EMUI version is 9.1 and Android version is Android 9 out-of-the-box. Out of 128GB you will get 118GB available out-of-the-box. However, in the Settings here, there are quite a lot of options.

Honor 9X Camera

Opening up the camera application you can get several options of which let's see a super quick overview of it. So, firstly, you'll get aperture mode wherein you can edit the blurriness of a photo, there's Night mode in which there's a lot of AI implementation with which you get some amazing photos and then there's 2MP bokeh sensor mode, which you can use it to capture portrait shots. Then there's the regular photo mode wherein you will get 1x and super-wide option. You will also get 120-degree field of view. Moving forward, after enabling-AI mode, you'll get to see further options in the Settings of the camera. You get to see Photo resolution, watermark and grid option and there's ultra snapshot option too.

In the video mode, wherein it has got 1x mode and you can record videos in wide mode as well which is also a good thing. You can record videos up to Full HD. Yes, there is no 4K video recording support in this smartphone.

So these are the options available in the video settings. Additionally in the 'more' area under settings you will find vast number of options like Pro mode,
slow-motion, panorama, light painting, HDR, time-lapse, moving picture, filters and stickers.

You can take some pretty good-looking shots effortlessly, photos look detailed with good dynamic range of colors, shadows and saturation.

And talking about selfies, you will get 16MP selfie camera, which is the pop-up camera, as mentioned before and even here you can find several other interesting options too. In the front-facing camera you can shoot at 1080p at 30 frames per second and there is no video stabilization in the front-facing camera till now. The video quality does look decent but unfortunately without stabilization you do have a shaky video. I'm hoping that a firmware update will give us the stabilization that we expect.

Honor 9X Fingerprint Scanner & Security

However, in the security section of this phone you will get fingerprint unlocking feature, which is a physical fingerprint scanner and it is available on the back. The rare-mounted fingerprint scanner unlocks the phone quite fast and the fingerprint scanner works flawlessly. It's quite easy to reach and it's quite accurate. The Honor 9X fingerprint sensor is accurate and fairly fast with a slight second delay before unlocking so not the fastest we've ever seen but still does the job. Unfortunately there is no face unlock feature available at the moment on this smartphone.

Honor 9X Price in India & Battery

You will have a single loudspeaker which does indeed get pretty loud and the quality is also not that bad. You have a decent battery life with 4000mAh and this phone can last you nearly two days depending on your usage. Honor 9X does not support fast charging so unfortunately it takes 2.5 hours to fully charge it up. The Honor 9X price in India is ₹13,999 for the 4GB RAM & 128GB Storage varient and ₹16,999 for the 6GB RAM & 128GB storage varient.

Though, the Honor 9X is weighed 196 grams, it doesn't feel to be that much heavier. But, overall it has got some beautiful design, it has got some clean UI, and a fabulous camera setup too. There is a headphone jack, micro SD card slot and a fingerprint sensor but we do not have an IP rating, no NFC, no fast charging, no wireless charging and no face unlock. The Honor 9X is a new affordable smartphone. You're getting a decent user experience, a great 48 megapixel camera for photos, a decent display and design, big battery and a 16 megapixel pop-up selfie camera. There are indeed a number of drawbacks, still appears as a fairly decent budget handset for Honor 9X price in India for now.
